From Riverside Theatre Works

Riverside Theatre Works enters its 30th Season facing a huge financial challenge. We found ourselves in a great deal of debt this spring and were forced to face the reality of continuing this business without the significant public funding that has been available to us in the past. In short, we need to find new ways to sustain ourselves financially in these difficult economic times.

Truthfully, we are more optimistic now than ever before! We have an energetic committee of board members, parents and community leaders committing time and energy as never before. Two summer special events (produced by RTW Faculty and Alumni) made significantly more money than anticipated and another event is planned for September 25th. Enrollment is on the rise, a new home-school program is being head started next week and our Thursday Piano Bar that began this summer has been quite successful!

But we still need your help. YOU can play a vital role in our future. Here are a few ways you can help:

– Volunteer: Join our planning committee. New people bring new ideas and new networks. The old adage “many hands make light work” has never been more true.

– Ideas: Do you have ideas about new classes or programs but do not have the time to be involved directly?  Email Julie at or call her at 617-361-7024.

– Donate: On Riverside Theatre Works website, you will find a button that says “Donate.” Click on this to create a one-time, annual or monthly donation to the theatre. Of course, checks are accepted as well. Your donation is tax-deductible and would be so appreciated at this time.

-Subscribe: When you subscribe, not only do you get benefits like restaurant discounts and invitations to opening night receptions, but you ensure that we have an audience! You sustain our season of shows! Your tickets are discounted 15% and there are no online fees so subscribe today for the best seats!
