Call for Proposals: Commonwealth Award Art Object
We’re announcing an open call for proposals to create the 2011 Commonwealth Award Art Object. The Commonwealth Awards, presented biannually, are the state’s highest honor in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences. The MCC commissions a Massachusetts artist to create the three-dimensional art object that serves as the award.

The MCC will commission between nine and thirteen art objects AND one distinctive piece to be presented to the Keynote Speaker. Deadline for proposals is Friday, October 15, 2010. The total budget may not exceed $8,450 (approximately $650 per object).

Artists may apply to the LCC Program for projects that contribute to the cultural vitality of their community. Artist-in-residency programs, lectures, performances and exhibits that are open to the public are examples of projects that may be eligible for LCC funding. LCC grants are reimbursement-based and applicants should contact their LCC before completing an application.
